1 – The Pandemic of Argumentation (free, open access) book has been published by COST Action (CA17132)

This book is the first collective volume on virality of argumentation in pandemic times. It offers state-of-the art accounts of the challenges of public communication and public deliberation during crisis.

Thanks to funds by the COST Action project CA 17132: European network for Argumentation and Public PoLicY analysis (APPLY) the editors Steve Oswald, Marcin Lewinski, Sara Greco have made the book open access. All chapters are available online under this link on Springer’s website. The book itself can also be downloaded in pdf format.

2 – Science advice under pressure – a conference by the EC’s Scientific Advice Mechanism (27-28th April, free registration, online and in Brussels

This major public conference will bring together policymakers, science advisors, researchers, and other professionals. The European Commission’s Scientific Advice Mechanism warmly invites everyone working at the science-policy interface to explore the key challenges of delivery science advice under pressure through a series of panel debates, interactive sessions and networking opportunities. We will reflect on the diverse experiences of many different actors in the field, debating the values that underpin science advice and sharing good practice.

This conference is co-organised by the Group of Chief Scientific Advisors to the European Commission, and by SAPEA

3 – Updated version of the COST Actions against Covid-19 booklet

The booklet summarizes achievements from the NoA and what expertise the participating Actions offer to the network I am sure this will inspire new collaborations.
